Florida doesn't have the largest waves in the world - but it does have the world's largest outdoor wave pool! There's plenty of room to splash around at Typhoon Lagoon within the Walt Disney World Resort in southwest Orlando.
Circle around Mount Mayday at any half-hour interval to see it spew a 50-foot geyser of water around "Miss Tilly," a shrimp boat that Disney legend says was wrecked there in a typhoon. Here, you'll have seemingly endless fun hurtling down the many flumes for individuals and families, including the Humunga Kowabunga, the Storm Slides, or Mayday Falls. There's even Hideaway Bay, a sandy white beach to chill at while others brave the Crush n' Gusher water coaster nearby. The giant wave pool, one of several pools here, alternates between surf waves and bobbing waves throughout the day.
Kiddies can enjoy themselves in the children's areas of the park and the more adventurous folk can partake of interactive saltwater attractions. Of course, there are plenty of filling refreshment venues along the way, too. So pack up your water wear and head to Typhoon Lagoon!
